Louisville Kentucky, home to the University of Louisville Cardinals, is a wonderful place to live. I would like to invite you to explore Louisville for a few days. This is the perfect time of year for visiting the Bluegrass State. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of our fine city! We’ll pick you up at your hotel in a limousine, and you will be treated to a local tour.
Churchill Downs
Our first stop is Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, where you can learn about the history of horse racing in America. A truly historic destination, Churchill Downs is one of America’s premier horse racing tracks. We will visit the track where the Kentucky Derby takes place, watch the races, and have a chance to buy a betting slip.
Muhammad Ali Center
A little more than an hour away is Louisville’s new $60 million museum and cultural center. It was opened on October 4, 2011, in honor of Muhammad Ali. The world-famous boxer once called Louisville his hometown. The building will serve as a tribute to his life and career, as well as a testament to the diversity of Louisville’s culture. The Center is home to a collection of some of Ali’s most important possessions, including his boxing gloves, his robe from his first fight with Joe Frazier, a signed boxing glove from George Foreman, and his famous speech about racial equality and the Vietnam War.
Louisville Slugger Museum
Just a short drive away is the Slugger Museum. The museum, located at the site of the original Louisville Slugger factory in downtown Louisville, is home to over a thousand baseball bats from around the world. A visit here will bring back memories of playing catch in the backyard with your dad, or hitting tee shots at the local golf course with friends.
Bourbon Trail
The Bourbon Trail is one of the oldest and most celebrated tourist attractions in Kentucky. Its main street has more than 50 distilleries, including five that are open to the public. You can purchase an official Bourbon Trail T-shirt and learn about the history of Kentucky bourbon in our distillery tours.
Louisville Zoo
Louisville’s zoo, just south of downtown, is home to over 600 animals, including tigers, bears, elephants, giraffes, koalas, and penguins. The zoo is a great place to visit with kids. Kids love watching the animals get fed, take a bath, play, and interact. The zoo is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Louisville is a very nice city, with a great mix of people from all over the world. It has a wide range of fun things to do for all ages. I hope you have a wonderful time.
